Project Engineer Opportunity
Randstad is partnering with a leading civil contractor specializing in critical energy and water infrastructure projects in the Gippsland Region.
About the Role
This is a site-based position requiring a commitment to safety and quality project delivery, reporting directly to the Director and Operations Manager.
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
* Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer, ideally within the civil construction sector, with exposure to energy or water infrastructure projects.
* Maintaining control of project performance, including scheduling, budget management, quality control, and successful completion of project milestones.
* Taking a leading role on site, driving daily execution and technical aspects of civil construction works.
* Strong technical background and understanding of civil construction methodologies, standards, and safety regulations.
* Serving as a primary point of contact, maintaining strong relationships and effective liaison with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Championing a culture of safety, ensuring rigorous adherence to all safety protocols and managing site safety operations. Demonstrated commitment to safety excellence required.
* The successful candidate must be locally based or willing to relocate to the Gippsland region.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
o Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
o Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
2. Civil Construction Expertise:
o Oversee the daily execution of civil construction works.
o Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
3. Site Safety and Risk Management:
o Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with project sites.
o Develop and implement effective safety protocols to minimize accidents and incidents.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer, ideally within the civil construction sector.
* Strong technical background and understanding of civil construction methodologies, standards, and safety regulations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
