Hours of Work: Rotating days and nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Subject to change due to operational requirements.

Language Requirement: Written and spoken competency in one of the two official languages (English or French) is required and spoken competency in the other official language is required.
Our provincial ambulance service provider responds to approximately 130,000 calls per year, transporting patients to hospital by ambulance, and our specialized air ambulance crew transfers hundreds of the most critically ill and injured patients to specialized medical centres. Paramedics provide medical support to patients on scene and en route to hospitals, employing emergency techniques and various medical treatments. They are the first on scene in times of crisis and remain until the job is done.
If you're a new graduate from a post-secondary program in paramedicine or have working experience outside the province of New Brunswick, ANB has a standardized process for selecting top candidates to fill Advanced Care Paramedic positions.
Required Qualifications
* Entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit)
* Demonstrate ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record
* Have a high regard for confidentiality and patient safety
* Hold an Advanced Care Paramedic program/course of over six months; if you do not have one and are interested in this career, there is a list of paramedic programs in Atlantic Canada
* Registered, active Advanced Care Paramedic with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick; if not currently registered in New Brunswick, visit PANB
* Have a valid New Brunswick Class 4 Driver's Licence (or equivalent)
* Willing to participate and contribute to future pilot projects, related research initiatives and focus groups
* Willing to participate in community Paramedicine duties
Additional Application Requirements
* Current Resume and Cover Letter
* A copy of your ACP diploma from an accredited institution
* Proof of current registration with Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
* Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to working as a paramedic within the last 12 months
* Proof of valid CPR level C certification issued in the last 12 months
* Photocopy of front and back of valid Class 4 driver's license (or equivalent) with minimum one year driving experience
* Driver's abstract; issued within the last 30 days
* Copy of any valid Driver's course certificate i.e. CEVO, VFIS or NS VSP or equivalent issued within the last three years
* Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check; issued within the last 30 days
* Immunization Record (Tetanus Tdap) within the last 10 years, 2 MMR vaccines or lab evidenced immunity, 2 Varicella vaccines or lab evidenced immunity, 3 Hepatitis B doses and Lab evidenced immunity, TB Skin Test (2 step) and a 1-step in the last 12 months; if reactive a follow up chest x-ray. If needed, a meeting with our Employee Health and Wellness Consultant can be scheduled, to ensure that all vaccinations are up to date by the time an offer is made
* Valid Official Language Assessments (oral assessment only) in both French and English from the Department of Post-secondary Education, Training and Labour
* Additional training and/or education is highly valued
