The Duty Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of Club Whitsunday during each shift. This position is responsible for overseeing daily venue activities, coordinating staff, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining compliance with all licensing, gaming, and safety regulations.
The Duty Manager acts as the primary point of contact for staff and patrons, providing guidance, problem-solving support, and operational direction. Key responsibilities include supervising front-of-house and gaming operations, managing cash and reconciliation processes, responding to patron concerns, and ensuring the venue upholds service standards at all times.
This role requires strong communication skills, sound decision-making under pressure, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. The Duty Manager contributes directly to the overall performance, reputation, and customer experience of the club.
What you can expect in a day in the role:
Reporting to the Management, you will be expected to be hands-on with the daily operations, including gaming, food and beverage across the Club. You'll lead and manage a close-knit team during your shift, always ensuring exceptional customer service while fostering strong relationships within the community.
Your duties will include, but not limited to;
Lead the on-shift team to provide memorable customer service and experience
Ensure health, safety, gaming and club operations procedures are followed
Assist with staff scheduling and break management in coordination with the roster
Assisting with handling complaints and issues, as required
What you will bring to the role:
Experience bar and gaming position within the hospitality industry or a related industry
Demonstrated practical experience in the delivery of quality customer service, preferably in the areas of food and beverage and gaming.
Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and cooperate with co-workers
Well-rounded, current gaming knowledge, and applied knowledge of relevant legislation/regulations applicable to the hospitality industry
Availability and flexibility to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays
Current Queensland recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and current Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RSG) Certificates, or the ability to obtain. RMLV
