Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long‐term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel's capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.
Job Summary
The Supply Chain Lead provides specialist supply chain expertise to programs and projects, ensuring supply chain planning, risk management, commercial alignment, and supplier engagement support effective project delivery. The role provides functional leadership, strategic guidance, and structured assessment of supply chain performance across current and future projects.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead on supplier engagement strategies across the portfolio for projects, providing advice to projects on market conditions, supplier capacity, and potential partnership approaches.
- Define supply‐chain frameworks, standards, and guidance for use across the project portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to build stronger supplier relationships that support long‐term programs.
- Collaborate with the Procurement and Program teams to align on strategic supply chain engagement strategies.
- Provide guidance on specifications, supply chain requirements, and contract structures, while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance value.
- Support pricing and terms negotiations with strategic partners, contractors, and suppliers.
- Deliver commercial outcomes that align with the client's financial governance and long‐term strategy.
- Develop and refine specifications for new and existing contracts within the portfolio.
- Ensure contract requirements are clearly articulated, compliant, and aligned with the client's operational needs.
- Translate the project's infrastructure commercial strategy into clear team objectives.
- Provide direction, communicate expectations, and inspire team members to deliver results that contribute to the airport's strategy.
- Build capability within the Contracts & Commercial team by identifying development needs, coaching colleagues, and sharing expertise.
- Support the broader organisation by enhancing knowledge and skills in procurement, contract management, and supplier engagement.
- Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Education And Experience Requirements
- Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline such as : Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, and/or Construction Management.
- Demonstrated experience in senior commercial ,contract and supply chain management (circa 10 years ) within a relevant project/construction-based industry.
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Extensive knowledge of various contracting and procurement models for infrastructure project delivery.
- In depth knowledge of the local supply chain network.
- Proven experience managing operational and financial risks with demonstrated strategies implemented to protect the business.
