About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Building Services Coordinator to support the delivery of complex construction projects across the full project lifecycle from design coordination through to commissioning and handover.
This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with a background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic services, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about quality, compliance, and project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with coordinating building services design (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire) with consultants and contractors.
* Assist with the review of design documentation for constructability, compliance, and coordination with architectural and structural elements.
* Identify and manage design clashes and inconsistencies through BIM models and workshops.
* Manage project-specific ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans) for building services.
* Monitor installation works to ensure compliance with:
* NCC (National Construction Code)
* Relevant Australian Standards
* Project specifications and drawings
* Conduct site inspections and audits to verify workmanship and materials.
* Maintain QA documentation, including checklists, inspection records, and compliance matrices.
* Coordinate commissioning activities across all services trades.
* Assist with verifying system performance against design intent and operational requirements.
* Witness testing, validation, and integrated systems commissioning.
* Manage defects and ensure completion of pre-commissioning and commissioning checklists.
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Building Services, or related field (preferred).
* Experience in building services coordination within commercial, healthcare, infrastructure, or high-rise projects.
* Strong understanding of MEP systems and commissioning processes.
* Working knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards, and QA processes.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and documentation control.
