About the Role:
We're seeking a Production Quality Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring quality excellence across our manufacturing operations. This is a hands‐on, high‐impact role where you'll lead inspection processes, manage non‐conformance, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage Non‐Conformance Report (NCR) processes.
* Establish and maintain inspection criteria, work instructions (PIWI) and final inspection reporting (FIR).
* Oversee non‐conforming product management and corrective actions.
* Coordinate quality activities across vehicle build and production processes.
* Liaise with customers on quality, warranty issues, audits and inspections.
* Review quality data and issue Certificates of Conformity.
* Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
Qualifications
* Trade or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.
Key Skills
* Strong problem‐solving and root cause analysis capability.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong attention to detail with a process‐driven mindset.
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.
* Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement principles.
Preferred Skills
* Quality Engineering experience within manufacturing (automotive/heavy vehicle preferred).
* Strong exposure to quality systems, inspection and audits.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
* Experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly environments.
* Defence industry experience (desirable).
Eligibility
* To be successful in this role, you will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance up to NV1 (must be an Australian Citizen). Eligibility criteria can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva.
