Role Overview
The role of Head of Special Education Services empowers learners by driving inclusive practices, supporting student success and collaboration with staff and families.
This leadership position focuses on leading inclusive education practices to ensure equity and excellence for students with a disability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a team in developing Personalised Learning Plans, Individual Curriculum Plans, and coordinating Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement Statements.
* Maintain a strong understanding of curriculum, adjustments, and work closely with Heads of Department to develop assessments suitable for all students.
* Support teachers to enhance the achievement and development of all students across the full spectrum of capabilities.
* Oversee Teacher Aides, building their capability to work alongside teachers in classrooms.
* Develop an inclusive framework, culture and practices to ensure equity and excellence for students with a disability.
* Develop processes to support high-quality teaching and adjustments for students with a disability, in accordance with current legislation and policies.
