Position Overview
Dakabin State High School is seeking a Head of Department - Science to join our dedicated team. Our school has received a Showcase Excellence Award for the Metropolitan North Region, recognizing our teachers' efforts in creating Assessment Literate Learners. This is a temporary full-time position until 6 June 2026, unless otherwise specified.
About Us
Dakabin State High School fosters a culture of high-performing teachers by investing in professional development through a timetable that includes a 70-minute paid Professional Learning Team time, alongside engaging students in Academic Intervention in English, Mathematics, and Science. We also provide Curriculum Teaching and Learning time each morning. Our staff are supported by a Deputy Principal of HR, faculty Heads of Department, a Behaviour HUB, Year Level Coordinators, and programs supporting new teachers and leadership development. We encourage staff participation in various committees such as Wellbeing, PBL, Inclusivity, and Pedagogy.
