Role Overview:
As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for growing and managing business customers using a self-serve freight platform. This includes the acquisition of new business customers, onboarding, managing existing relationships and ensuring competitive freight rates.
Your ultimate goal will be to provide a seamless, scalable and profitable experience for customers, while achieving key performance targets for revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Customer Onboarding & Management
* Work closely with the customer service team to convert inbound inquiries into active business customers.
* Guide new customers through the platform setup, educating them on key features and offer ongoing support.
* Conduct quarterly business reviews, monitor account performance, and identify opportunities for cross-selling and addressing service issues.
1. New Business Acquisition
* Identify and pursue potential business customers through networking, industry events and direct outreach.
* Convert leads into active users of the platform, negotiate terms and finalise customer onboarding.
* Meet or exceed quarterly and annual targets for business customer sign-ups and revenue generation.
1. Referral to Managed Services
* Seamlessly refer complex customer cases to the Managed Services division while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
1. Rates Management & Platform Competitiveness
* Regularly review and update freight rates to ensure competitiveness on the platform, collaborating with transport providers to stay ahead of market trends.
* Track performance impacts of rate changes and adjust strategies to optimise customer satisfaction and profitability.
1. Transport Provider Onboarding
* Coordinate with internal teams to support the onboarding of transport providers, ensuring seamless integration with the platform.
* Verify compliance standards, such as insurance, safety and licensing, to maintain platform integrity.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience :
* Proven experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the domestic freight or logistics sector.
* Strong skills in negotiating and closing deals with business customers and transport providers.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Technical Skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Solid understanding of freight rate structures and supply chain processes.
* Proficient with CRM systems and digital sales tools.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
