The Opportunity
Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking a qualified and experienced Special Class Welder to join our team in Port Hedland, WA. This is a casual local role, supporting shutdowns as well as ad‑hoc work within our Wedgefield Workshop.
In this position, you will carry out:
* Routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on a range of equipment, including dust and diesel systems, chutes, liners and conveyor rollers.
* Welding and fabrication tasks using drawings, plans and specifications.
You'll be working as part of a supportive team that prides itself on delivering safe, high‑quality outcomes across our client sites.
About You
* Trade Certificate
* Driver's Licence and White Card
* Confined Spaces, Gas Test Atmospheres, Working at Heights
* Basic Fire Certificate
* MSIC (or ability to obtain one) is preferred
* Ability to confidently pass Manual Metal Arc Welding and Flux Core Arc Welding tests
* You will have general welder as well as fabrication experience
