The University of Melbourne is seeking a Lecturer in Small Animal Clinical Studies to provide excellence in teaching and clinical service.
This role will contribute to the teaching and learning experience at the Melbourne Veterinary School, working within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. The successful applicant will be responsible for clinical teaching across the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, including developing and delivering tutorials, workshops, and practical classes, as well as clinical teaching during student rotations.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated tertiary level teaching experience and the ability to teach innovative programs at all levels, under various settings, including online learning and curriculum course design. They will also provide academic mentoring and assistance to students, with a focus on providing a positive learning experience.
Key responsibilities include:
* Contributing to teaching and learning at all levels, enhancing student learning and experience
* Working closely with clinical teams and individual staff to ensure a high-quality student experience
* Providing excellent veterinary services to patients and clients, meeting national and international accreditation standards
* Supervising and training staff, and assisting in training interns and residents, as appropriate
This position requires an awarded Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree, registrable in Victoria, with relevant experience as a veterinarian. The ideal candidate will also have experience in small animal veterinary clinical practice, proven ability to manage a challenging caseload, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
