LEVEL 1 Projects are looking for a reliable all-rounder carpenter/handyman to undertake construction and repair tasks across our residential and commercial projects. Every day will be different, with a wide variety of tasks across much of the ACT needing to be performed. We are looking for someone well-organized with strong general repair skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
* Performing reactive maintenance and repairs
* Carry out general carpentry work (doors, locks, cabinetry, skirting, fencing, minor framing, etc)
* Plastering as part of internal rectification is essential
* Manual labour including waste removal, light demolition, materials handling, etc
* Working with other trades as part of larger repairs
* Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
* Communicate clearly with clients, tenants, and management regarding job progress
* Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. moving soil)
* Identify and report the need for major repairs or further works on the sites
* Clean sites by sweeping, removing waste, calling for skip bins, etc.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in carpentry and general maintenance
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
* Experience in reactive or facilities maintenance (highly regarded)
* Good understanding of building maintenance and repair techniques
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple jobs
* Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
Requirements
* Relevant trade qualification in Carpentry (preferred but not essential depending on experience)
* Have basic tools and equipment
* Current driver's license
* Own vehicle
* White Card, Silica, and Asbestos Awareness
* Ability to pass background checks and hold security clearances will be highly regarded
* Knowledge of ServiceM8 will be highly regarded
* Current First Aid will be highly regarded
