Your new role
As a Traffic Engineer, you will provide specialist advice on traffic engineering, road safety and active transport across the local road network. Reporting to the Coordinator Traffic Services, you will investigate traffic issues, prepare feasibility studies and preliminary designs, manage transport‑related projects, and coordinate Local Area Traffic Management schemes. The role also involves stakeholder and community consultation, liaison with government agencies, and providing advice on temporary traffic management for works and events.
What you'll need to succeed
A degree qualification in civil or traffic engineering
Demonstrated experience in traffic or municipal engineering
Sound knowledge of Austroads, Australian Standards and relevant WA legislation
Experience in traffic investigations, road safety audits and traffic data analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a team
