Senior Project Manager – BAE Systems Australia

About the Chance
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our AUKUS Delivery team based in Flinders Street, South Australia. Reporting to the Head of Capability Pathway, this role will manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and opportunities to enable successful delivery of program outcomes. Additionally, the role will manage multiple control accounts to support phase 1 of the AUKUS program, with a focus on the Transfer of Technology within the program.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic relationships with industry partners and BAE Systems international entities for the successful implementation of the Transfer of Technology Strategy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, aligned to strategic business objectives under the broader Capability Pathway activity.
- Foster a positive and collaborative culture between key project stakeholders and the project team, including the customer, industry partners, sub‑contractors and suppliers.
- Build and maintain a trusted relationship with the customer, serving as the focal point for Transfer of Technology contact.
- Lead the project team to ensure timely activity, integration and efficient use of time and resources to meet requirements.
- Ensure all project requirements and objectives are properly documented in a business case and/or project brief, as appropriate, and vigorously pursued.
- Establish appropriate key success indicators (KSIs) and recommend trade‑offs between scope, quality, time and cost. Monitor relevance of KSIs and influence enhancements where valuable.
- Ensure that products and services delivered as part of a project comply with the Product Safety Policy and provide customer satisfaction.
- Develop an appropriate risk management culture, continuously mitigating known risk areas. Communicate risk position and business impacts outside of the project team.
- Provide direction to, and motivate, the broader matrix project team for Transfer of Technology.
- Identify and address training and development needs for the project team.
- Complete all closure and wrap‑up activities upon project completion, including lessons learned.
- Provide mentoring to developing Project Managers.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management (desirable).
- Previous experience in a senior level role of similar responsibility.
- Experience managing similar knowledge transfer programmes and/or technology transfer.
- Experience supporting product development and manufacturing development activities.
- Experience managing the quality of programme outputs to ensure strategic objectives are met.
- Experience conducting programme‑level meetings and reviews.
- Proven influencer and communicator with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and senior customer representatives.
- Current NV1 Defence security clearance.
