Fixed Term, Full Time, 76 hours per fortnight.

Commencing ASAP for a 12 month period.

Theatre Technician, Grade 1 (IN7) $28.84737 p/h

With the exciting expansion of our surgical services we have a wonderful opportunity for someone to join our diverse team of surgeons, anaesthetists and dedicated nurses as a Theatre Technician in Training.

This position involves a combination of in‐house and external training so applicants must be able to commit to the full 12 month period.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe transfer and positioning of patients, cleaning, setting up, and maintenance of equipment. The Theatre Technician in Training will work with other technicians as part of a multidisciplinary perioperative team.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has:

* Enthusiasm and flexibility in their working hours – there are various shifts depending on the theatre lists.
* Previous manual handling and/or patient transportation experience – highly desirable.
* Capability to work in a physically demanding environment.
* Good professional communication skills.
* Previous experience within a hospital or health care setting.
* Ability to work in all areas of the operating room suite and in the specialties offered.
* Knowledge of Infection Control Principles & Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
* Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of people.
* Willingness to work a rotating roster of morning and afternoon shifts: 0730 to 2100 Monday – Friday.

IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated for Influenza unless a valid exemption applies. Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required prior to commencement.
