Overview
The General Manager – Port Logistics is responsible for leading and managing the state operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and commercially successful port logistics services. The role oversees operational performance, customer experience and retention, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and the attraction and development of high-performing teams across all sites.
Responsibilities
* Drive operational excellence through the effective use of the AOS operating system to monitor performance, optimise driver productivity and resolve service exceptions within agreed service levels.
* Champion system adoption across the business while identifying opportunities for workflow and process improvements.
* Maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance, including adherence to NHVR, ABF and Department of Agriculture requirements, and oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Safety Management System.
* Lead all people-related functions including employee engagement and performance management, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
* Oversee revenue integrity, invoicing accuracy, cost control and financial performance, while ensuring alignment with customer contracts and operational delivery.
* Manage key customer relationships, support business development activities, and lead customer onboarding and major account implementations.
* Work closely with internal executive leadership and external stakeholders to ensure operational, financial and compliance objectives are achieved while delivering outstanding service outcomes for customers and driving sustainable business growth.
