Electrical Technician Water Operations role at MidCoast Council based in the Taree Water Services Depot, Muldoon Street. The position covers the southern area including Bulahdelah, Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens, and Stroud. Responsibilities 
- Specialise in electrical switchboards, motors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). 
- Support the Water Management and Treatment (WMAT) and Water Operations (WOP) teams. 
- Identify and remove limitations or deterioration that affect system performance. 
- Maintain and update data within the planned maintenance system, including schedules, procedures, work history, and parts usage. 
- Provide training and guidance to staff on the operation and maintenance of electrical assets. 
- Assist with installations and equipment upgrades. 
- Support and maintain Telemetry, SCADA, and instrumentation systems. 
Qualifications and experience 
To be successful, you’ll hold an Electrical Trade Certificate along with a Contractor Licence and/or Qualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrician). You’ll bring proven experience as an electrician, ideally within the water industry or a related process‑driven environment. Technical expertise should include instrumentation and switchboards, large motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), high voltage systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, radio telemetry, and condition‑based monitoring. We are seeking a technically skilled, safety‑focused, solutions‑oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative team setting. 
Salary and tenure 
Salary: commencing around $74,700 p.a. to $82,200 p.a. plus superannuation, plus a Water Allowance of $133.61 per week. Vehicle: a work‑use vehicle is provided for travel to sites. Tenure: full‑time, permanent. 
Location 
This position will be based at our Taree Water Services Depot, Muldoon Street, and will cover the southern area including Bulahdelah, Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens, and Stroud.
