About the Role
The Department for Environment and Water, Eyre and Far West Region has an exciting opportunity available for a National Park Senior Ranger based in Port Lincoln. The Senior Ranger (OPS4) reports to a Senior Ranger (OPS5) and is responsible for collaboratively leading and supervising a team of Rangers in developing, planning and implementing a range of national park and conservation programs. Key deliverables include: delivery of pest plan and animal control, wildlife and conservation, management of public amenities and visitor safety, wildfire management and volunteer programs.

Contract
This is an ongoing position.
Special Conditions
Will be required to participate in emergency operations including bushfire operations, search and rescue and marine mammal strandings. This may require at times, some out of hours work including the participation in an "on-call" roster.
Will be required to undertake a medical and fitness assessment for a Fire Fighting Role Classification as defined in the DEW Fire Management Policy and Procedures.
Will be required to work some weekends and public holidays for which a penalty rate will be applied.
May be required to work from any location within the region or any region or management unit within the state.
Wearing a company uniform during working hours and/or when representing the department is mandatory.
A current class "C" driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
Intra and inter-state travel is required, including extended periods of time away from home and travel in light aircraft.
A current Provide First Aid Certificate is highly desirable (HLTAID001; HLTAID002 and HLTAID003).
Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. (DEW will cover the cost of renewal).
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
Remuneration
OPS4 $76,561 min – $80,258 max p.a., pro rata for part time hours.

Describe your track record in effectively supervising a team, and your experience in fostering a collaborative team environment.
Describe behavioural elements you consider essential in establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships when working with volunteers and other key stakeholders.
Demonstrate your knowledge of and experience in conservation land management principles and practices used to deliver wildlife conservation and pest plant and animal control activities.
Describe your understanding of systems available to maintain the presentation of public amenities and serviceability of mechanical plant and equipment, including risk management processes.
Demonstrate your skills in developing, planning, and managing projects.
Detail key safety considerations when working alone in remote localities.
