About the opportunity
Do you enjoy problem-solving and using data to analyze information at scale? You will work on data engineering to solve internal and external customer problems and improve business results. Data and Innovation are part of ELMO's DNA. We are looking for Data Engineers who will use cutting-edge technology to solve complex problems and see the impact of their work.
What you will be doing
* Developing and monitoring data pipelines from internal and external sources
* Data transformation and modeling; combining complex datasets from multiple systems for downstream consumption and visualization
* Work primarily with SQL and Python to automate and optimize data loading and transformation systems
* Maintain, operate, and tune Snowflake and DBT
* Collaborate with the AI team to develop and automate processes using RAG technologies
* Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in data pipelines
* Drive architectural plans for future data storage, reporting, and analytic solutions
* Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration
* Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
* Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift)
* Troubleshoot ETL failures and performance issues in SQL scripts
* Implement data security, access control, and compliance per company and legal standards
Desired Skills and Experience
The Data Engineer will have demonstrable experience in a complex data environment, applying machine learning techniques, advanced analytics, and statistical modeling. The must-haves for this role include:
* Experience with Kafka
* Strong knowledge of AWS cloud-native infrastructure
* Proficiency with Python scripting
* Strong experience with AWS RDS (Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL) query optimization
* Experience with workflow management engines (e.g., Airflow, AWS Step Functions)
* Experience with Snowflake and DBT
* Self-starter who can engage internal stakeholders and coach senior executives on the data journey
