What you'll be doing
In this specialist role, you'll provide advanced clinical care and leadership within the Safe Start/PIMHS model, supporting women and primary caregivers with severe and complex mental health needs during pregnancy and the first two years of infancy.
* Deliver intensive, short-term mental health care and care coordination
* Facilitate antenatal and postnatal Safe Start case discussions and referrals
* Apply advanced clinical reasoning to manage complex presentations independently
* Provide specialist consultation, leadership and mentoring to clinicians and partners
* Drive service improvement, quality initiatives and contribute to clinical research

Selection Criteria:
* For CNC/CMC Role: Registered Nurse or Midwife who has at least 5 years full time post registration experience and approved post registration nursing qualification (in relevant field) such as perinatal, child, youth and/adult mental health.
* Demonstrated experience in working with parents and families with infants experiencing severe and complex psychosocial and psychiatric problems in the perinatal period with demonstrated knowledge of the impact of mental health problems and mental illness in parenting, parent-infant relationship, and infant development.
* Experience working in collaboration across a variety of services.
* Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and experience in clinical teaching.
* Demonstrated knowledge of computerised information systems and proven ability to utilise research / quality improvement strategies to effect changes in clinical practice.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
* Capacity to act as an independent consultant with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Current driver's licence valid in Australia
