What's on offer?
A career-defining opportunity has now presented to join our Fulton Hogan Construction business as Airfield Works Package Manager to support the upgrade of the Airfield on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (CKI) which are located 3,000km north-west of Perth in the Indian Ocean, and boasting two coral atolls comprising of 27 smaller islands.
This stand-out once-in-a-lifetime project will complement your skills and experience and will allow your efforts to enhance infrastructure and play a critical role in improving the lives of the local community.
This position will report to the Construction Manager and will be FIFO to the Cocos and Keeling Islands on a 2:1 roster. As a key member of the project team, you will lead the delivery of the airfield works package, as well as various supporting packages, and partner with key stakeholders and supply chain to develop and implement all necessary handover processes and deliverables for multi-disciplinary works in accordance with relevant specifications and standards. You will be highly capable at interface management, and resource co-ordination, whilst working collaboratively across a diverse and complex environment.
Main responsibilities include:
* Subcontractor Package management from tender to delivery, commissioning and handover. Including all aspects of job delivery; program, quality & technical, safety, commercial and maintaining positive working relations.
* Safety management, monitoring and reporting for site activities. Supporting a strong safety culture amongst the team and subcontractors onsite.
* Working constructively with subcontractors and assisting to ensure they can succeed with the delivery of the package as required. Whilst appropriately managing commercial risks and identifying or forecasting deficiencies.
* Manage and coordinate all project airside works, including development of staging plans and Method of Work Plans (MOWP) to ensure no incidents.
* Clearly establish and manage performance expectations and ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
* Show initiative to address issues as they arise, with the aptitude and flexibility for taking on new challenges.
We're seeking suitably demonstrated project management and delivery experience, with relevant tertiary qualifications. You will have a sound understanding of defence contracts and experience working in a remote environment where you will be accountable and responsible for a sizeable package of civil works. You will have an innate ability to develop and maintain strong relationships, be able to support, mentor and effectively lead a project team to strong delivery, and promote a positive workplace culture based on trust, respect, and high performance.
