We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Credit Analyst to join our growing team in a pivotal role focused on the underwriting and management of secured business loans ranging from $500k to $2m. This role is centered on identifying and assessing viable lending opportunities secured by second registered mortgages over residential and commercial real estate. You will act as a critical link between our sales engine and credit risk framework, ensuring the delivery of fast, responsible and innovative funding solutions to Australian SMEs. Key Responsibilities Scenario Assessment & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate closely with sales, finance brokers, accountants and debt advisors to pre-screen and qualify potential loan scenarios Comprehensive Underwriting Conduct deep-dive credit assessments for secured business loans Analyse SME business cash flow, including detailed review of bank statements and financial statements Credit Committee Presentation Prepare high-quality credit submissions Present recommendations clearly and confidently to the Credit Committee Security & Settlement Management Liaise with external solicitors and valuers to manage valuations and documentation Ensure all conditions are satisfied to achieve smooth and timely settlements Portfolio Quality & Risk Management Maintain strong credit and risk standards Find "the way to yes" through creative, responsible deal structuring Experience & Qualifications We are looking for a commercially-minded analyst who thrives in a fast-paced non-bank lending environment. 5 years' experience as a Credit Analyst within unsecured business lending or property-backed business lending Essential experience in the non-bank or private lending sector Deep understanding of SME cash flow drivers Proven ability to interpret complex bank statements and financial reports Strong technical knowledge of security registration processes (PPSR and mortgages) Sound understanding of relevant Australian lending legislation A creative and analytical problem-solver who can look beyond the numbers Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (highly regarded)
