As the Director of Grid Strategy & Solutions, you will lead the development of new grid service models that respond to evolving NEM reforms, technical challenges, and market design opportunities. This is a highly strategic individual contributor role where you will influence product direction, shape service innovation, and represent the organisation in key industry and regulatory forums.
You will work closely with local engineering and regulatory teams, as well as collaborate with global R&D and senior leadership stakeholders to bring new service concepts from idea to revenue-generating reality, into the Australian market.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify opportunities emerging from AEMO/AER reforms, power system dynamics, and customer trends.
* Build commercial and technical business cases for new services (e.g., FCAS, SIPS, VPP models).
* Adapt global technologies—including proprietary hardware and AI-driven bidding tools—for the Australian market.
Strategic Engagement
* Act as the senior technical authority supporting major industrial clients.
* Represent the organisation in regulatory and industry working groups.
Cross-Functional Leadership
* Align Australian strategy with global innovation and executive teams.
* Ensure new services can be operationalised effectively across field and commercial teams.
What You Bring
* Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of National Electricity Rules and power system dynamics.
* Proven ability to move from pure engineering into strategy, product, or commercial leadership.
* Exceptional communication skills. You are able to translate complex grid concepts for commercial audiences.
