About the Role
Join our passionate Infrastructure team and play a key role in shaping the future of the Mornington Peninsula. As a Senior Development Engineer, you’ll provide expert technical guidance on development proposals, ensuring high‑quality, sustainable outcomes for our community. This is a fantastic chance to apply your civil engineering expertise in a diverse and rewarding local government environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Compiling engineering comments and approvals for planning & subdivision referrals;
- Checking, approval and distribution of construction plans;
- Liaising with internal personnel and external consultants;
- Responding to customer service enquiries.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years engineering experience in local government or private industry, specifically in the Development Engineering field.
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the development industry and relevant approval processes.
- Civil engineering design capability in relation to drainage retention systems, pumped systems, retaining structures, land stability, flooding, drainage reports, waste management, vehicle parking within developments and traffic issues.
- An understanding of the Shire’s planning scheme and the legal and political context in which it operates.
