About The Role
Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
The purpose of the Director of SOuRCe is to lead and conduct high quality clinical, epidemiological and health services research to improve health outcomes for surgical patients, and to manage and supervise the research team within SOuRCe along with all financial and operational aspects.

Ideal Candidate
* Post-graduate qualifications equivalent to the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and/or equivalent experience in epidemiology, biostatistics and/or health services research.
* Proven ability as a research leader e.g. through first author publications, first named investigator for grant submissions or ethics applications, invited presentations, research awards or prizes.
* Demonstrated senior level expertise in statistical methods relevant to clinical/health services research, the design and maintenance of research databases and the use of research and statistical software.
