What you'll be doing

The primary purpose of this role is to support the pathologists and other staff in the Histopathology dept with the perinatal and paediatric postmortem service. This includes set-up for postmortem examinations, taking and documenting weights and measurements, photography, assisting with medical imaging procedures, assisting with the postmortem examination, and reconstruction of the body. Other duties include assisting with release and admission of bodies to the mortuary, a range of general and other housekeeping duties within the laboratory and the mortuary, and assisting with administrative tasks in particular with regards the perinatal autopsy service.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

* Demonstrates experience assisting with post-mortem examinations, photography, and mortuary duties, including reconstruction of bodies following autopsy.
* Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner in a team environment, and to effectively communicate with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that may be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, and adopt self-care strategies.
