The team
The role sits within Finance Operations, part of Enterprise Services, which also includes Procurement, Property and Contracts, Performance Reporting and Planning, and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program.
Finance Operations provides critical financial services and advice across ASIC, including administered and departmental finance, accounts payable and receivable, taxation, unclaimed monies and industry funding. The team plays a vital role in ensuring ASIC meets its financial management, compliance and reporting obligations.
The role
Key Responsibilities Include
Analysing and preparing financial and statistical data to support administered revenue operationsManaging and reconciling receivables, including monitoring outstanding debts and collection activitiesApplying sound judgement and delegated decision‑making in relation to payment plans and waiver recommendationsPreparing reports on debt profiles, collection rates and workloadSupporting audit processes, including responses to internal audits and ANAO requestsAssisting with escalated matters and complaints, including those from the Ombudsman and Members of ParliamentReviewing and updating guidance materials, FAQs and standard responses to support external stakeholder complianceSupporting projects, system upgrades and user acceptance testing activitiesIdentifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and service delivery

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailWell‑developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearlyExperience managing internal and external stakeholders and responding to enquiries professionallyThe ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and proceduresSound time management skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesStrong capability in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with financial systems and data
Experience in debt management, advanced Excel capability with large data sets, strong written communication skills, a qualification in finance or a related discipline, and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders is highly beneficial for this role.
You'll be someone who enjoys working with data, values collaboration, and is motivated to contribute to the integrity of public sector financial management.
