About the role
Lawmee is working with a highly regarded financial services organisation to secure an experienced Senior Legal Counsel on a contracting basis. Commencing as soon as possible, this opportunity is expected to run for up to 3 months, with the potential to extend. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 2 days per week in the Melbourne office and the remainder working from home.
Working closely with the legal team, you'll act as a safe pair of hands providing practical legal advice across a broad range of matters including commercial contracts, marketing and financial matters.
Key responsibilities
* Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of commercial matters, including the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts, deeds and other legal documentation.
* Review and advise on marketing, promotional and member-facing materials to ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and governance requirements.
* Draft, negotiate and manage service agreements, grant agreements, funding arrangements and other commercial partnerships.
* Review and advise on financial and transactional documents, including loan agreements, mortgages, securities, guarantees and related financing arrangements.
Qualifications
We're looking for lawyers with 6+ years' PAE and some prior in‐house experience with a strong background drafting and negotiating agreements. The role will suit a lawyer comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy. Excellent technical, analytical and communication skills are essential. Prior experience in the insurance / financial services industry would be highly beneficial but is not a prerequisite.
