About the role Mater Private Hospital Mackay is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Palliative Care/Oncology Ward on a permanent, full-time or part-time basis.
Mater Private Hospital Mackay nursing team provides the highest level of specialist care to patients, their families, carers, and visitors.Our team of industry professionals work together as a cohesive and collaborative unit, going above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of care and deliver the highest level of clinical standards for the patient and the unit.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
Managing all aspects of palliative care from symptom and pain management, to end of life care. Utilising a structured approach carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients Completing PCOC assessments Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines About you You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic ward.
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions) Recent nursing experience including extensive experience within a medical ward setting Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles Experience with using CADD pumps & Syringe Drivers is desirable An openness to undergoing palliative care training if needed.
