• Assist in translation research delivery and implementation.
• Lead the establishment of and monitor field-based projects from inception to completion, with the input from scientific specialists and District Managers.
• Establish demonstration sites on suitable farms, leading grower discussion of results and assisting in knowledge delivery and practice change.
• Facilitate farmer meetings aimed at improving their knowledge of targeted productivity issues.
• Through engagement with farmers, identify opportunities to be targeted with District productivity plans, including through the use of in-field demonstrations and other targeted activities and programs of work.
• Employing a strategic approach to engagement, including through the use of behavioural change principles.
• Engage with Industry to communicate results of discrete projects and demonstrations, including the development of suitable communication materials.
• Work with District Managers and scientific specialists to conduct district-based data collection, to ensure a thorough understanding of issues, opportunities and risks within a region. Use this data to assist in the development and delivery of district productivity plans.
• Shared point of contact between local Industry and Sugar Research Australia in relation to district issues and inputs in the District Plan.
• Shared responsibility to communicate the District Plan to local stakeholders.
