About the role
About the role We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef with experience in Thai cuisine to join our dynamic team at an exciting new restaurant opening in Newstead, QLD. As our Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the kitchen operations and leading a team of passionate culinary professionals to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers. This is a full-time position.
What you'll be doing
* Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, inventory control, and staff supervision
* Develop and implement creative and innovative menu items that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the company's brand and vision
* Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing mentorship and guidance to the kitchen team
* Monitor kitchen operations, including cost control, productivity, and compliance with health and safety regulations
* Collaborate with the management team to enhance the overall customer experience
What we're looking for
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role. Must have experience in Thai / Asian cuisine
* Demonstrable expertise in menu development, budgeting, and inventory management
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
* Passion for using high-quality, fresh ingredients and creating visually appealing, delicious dishes
* Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
