Job Summary:
We are seeking a Disaster Response and Community Safety Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, reviewing, updating, and implementing City plans and documentation, including Local Emergency Management Arrangements.
* Maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures.
* Develop and implement prevention programs to reduce emergencies and improve community safety.
* Coordinate the City’s emergency response functions during incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with the community to improve risk mitigation strategies for various emergencies.
2. Consult on emergency management plans, recovery planning, and related initiatives.
3. Provide technical expertise and advice to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Collaborate with Community Safety staff on safety inspection programs.
5. Support emergency readiness and response for the City's airport.
6. Prepare operational reports as required.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Local Government Act WA, Emergency Management Act, and Bush Fires Act.
