Overview
The Operating Theatre Assistant is essential to the process flow of the operating theatre and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager. The position involves a seven-day roster with on-call and overtime responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the Operating Theatre.
Assist with transfers and positioning of patients in the operating theatre (once competency has been assessed).
Assist with the application of Diathermy plates and positioning equipment within the operating theatre suite (once competency has been assessed).
Maintain a safe and clean environment by regularly dry/wet mopping before, during and after theatre lists.

Recent experience in an Operating theatre environment.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
Remuneration and Employment Type
Employment types: Permanent Part-Time / Temporary Part-Time (approx 7 months) and Casual roles.
Salary Classification: Anaesthetic/Operating Theatre Technician.
Remuneration: $32.41 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.
