As a Birra Li Child and Family Health Nurse/Midwife, you'll be a driving force in empowering Aboriginal families—championing cultural connection, nurturing healthy beginnings, and shaping brighter futures from pregnancy through early childhood.

About the Role
You will support Aboriginal families through pregnancy, the antenatal and postnatal journey, and early childhood.
You will provide essential child health checks and immunisations up to school age, working side-by-side with families, community organisations, and primary care partners to strengthen child development, enhance maternal wellbeing, and nurture connection to culture.
You will be part of a warm, highly collaborative team of approximately 25 dedicated professionals—nurses, midwives, a lactation consultant, a social worker, and Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners—who share clinical expertise, cultural knowledge, and deep community connections.
Responsibilities
Provide child health checks and immunisations up to school age.
Support families through pregnancy, antenatal, and postnatal stages.
Coordinate care with community organisations and primary care partners.
Travel to outreach clinics across the service area.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Ensure culturally safe, strengths-based, person-centred clinical practice.
Qualifications
Current registration as a registered nurse/midwife with AHPRA.
Child and Family Health qualifications or working towards.
Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
Targeted Applicants:Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people (under Section 21) and female applicants (under Section 31(2)(h)).
