Independent Audit Committee Member – Victor Harbor Horse Tram Authority
The Victor Harbor Horse Tram Authority (VHHTA) is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified and experienced person to join its Audit Committee as an Independent Member.
The Victor Harbor Horse Tram is an iconic South Australian attraction with a proud history and a strong focus on good governance, accountability and community trust. VHHTA operates as a Section 42 subsidiary of the City of Victor Harbor under the Local Government Act 1999.
About the Role
The Audit Committee plays a key role in supporting the Authority and Council by providing independent advice and oversight in relation to governance, financial reporting, risk management, internal controls, and internal and external audit processes.
The role and functions of the Audit Committee are prescribed by Schedule 2, Section 30 of the Local Government Act 1999 and guided by the VHHTA Audit Committee Terms of Reference.
The appointment will be for a two-year term, commencing 1 March 2026 to 1 March 2028.
About You
Applicants should have functional knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Governance and compliance
* Risk management and internal control frameworks
* Financial management and financial reporting
* Internal and/or external auditing
Experience or understanding of the local government or public sector environment will be highly regarded,
