The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is part of the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. As primary agency for Australia's Antarctic Program (AAP), the AAD is responsible for achieving the Australian Government's Antarctic goals. These goals are to:

- Maintain the Antarctic Treaty System and enhance Australia's influence within it
- Protect the Antarctic environment
- Understand the role of Antarctica in the global climate system
- Undertake scientific work of practical, economic and national significance.

The AAD also has responsibility for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory and the Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands.

The Assets and Technology (A&T) Branch provides and maintains the equipment and infrastructure to support the AAP. The A&T Branch activities range from the maintenance of existing Antarctic stations and equipment through to the design, manufacture, testing, operation and procurement of advanced scientific equipment and systems. The Branch manages major infrastructure projects in support of AAP outcomes.

The Macquarie Island Station Project (MISP) Section sits within the A&T Branch and is responsible for the delivery of the new Macquarie Island Research Station to support ongoing science and conservation.

The key duties of the position include:

- The Site & Logistics Co-ordinator will be responsible for the planning, development and administration of integrated logistic & civil design (site establishment) for Planning, Design & Construction phases of this major infrastructure project.
- The position will be required to work in a dynamic environment with a multi-disciplined team.
- The role is required to be responsive to changing project, operational and organisational demands.
- Working in conjunction with and reporting to the Design Lead, this position will work closely with the Australian Antarctic Division's (AAD) Operations and Logistics Branch, Environmental Management & Infrastructure Delivery sections within the AAD.
- This position requires an individual with good interpersonal skills, who is well organised and flexible with high level coordination and planning skills.
- The ability to produce high-quality briefings and plans for key stakeholders and decision makers is also desirable.

- A relevant tertiary qualification from an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas institution, or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Security Clearance - this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
