The Maintenance Officer is an integral member of the support services team who works to achieve a high standard of quality service delivery within the team environment.
The Maintenance Officer will undertake to provide a maintenance service to all departments within KDH enabling efficient functioning of the health service. The role will also ensure compliance with policies and protocols in purchasing, storing and distributing supplies and equipment.
**Key Responsibilities, Duties and Performance Indicators**
- Working autonomously, undertake general maintenance works including urgent repairs (walls, windows, doors, roofing, flooring, carpentry and painting).
- Complete scheduled, reactive and preventative maintenance as required.
- Liaise with KDH approved contractors to undertake specialised maintenance (e.g. plumbing, electrical works and medical equipment).
- Maintain all plant and equipment in accordance with agreed work programs to ensure optimal safety for staff, patients and visitors (e.g. boilers, heating, air conditioning systems, pumps, generator, kitchen equipment and vehicles etc.)
- Maintain appropriate supply of frequently used items (e.g. light globes).
- Maintain safe and tidy grounds as required and in accordance with OH&S; practices.
- Use Maintenance Request computer system to manage and complete maintenance requests in a timely manner
