We have a current vacancy for a safety focused qualified Maintenance Fitter & Turner to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Repairing and maintaining machinery and equipmentScheduling and completing the companies 'Preventative Maintenance Program'Studies drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settingsFits fabricated metal parts into products and assembles metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipmentChecks fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instrumentsSets guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, sets up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and sets controls for textile machinesForms metal stock and castings to fine tolerance using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metalCuts, threads, bends and installs hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and linesDiagnoses faults and performs operational maintenance of machines and overhauls and repairs mechanical parts and fluid power equipmentMay erect machines and equipment on-siteAttending daily maintenance situations and breakdownsAttending weekly maintenance meetings and toolbox talks
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:Trade Certificates - Engine Reconditioning/ Fitter & Turner/ Machinist and/or other related industry qualificationStrong experience in a similar role will be highly regardedBe punctual and reliable, self-motivated, problem solver & team playerStrong interpersonal & communication skillsBasic computer literacyYou must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required.You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process.
