* Salary range: $67,811 p.a. (AO4)
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
* 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
* Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
About your opportunity:
The purpose of this position is to:
* Work under general direction to facilitate the education and development of the peer workers through coaching and mentorship.
* Connect to consumers, carers and staff providing a positive example of personal recovery and/or the carer experience and as a source of information on mental health and/or substance use challenges, navigating the service system, and the recovery journey.
* Provide education opportunities to staff of the MHSG to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework and lived experience perspective.
* Utilise your lived experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges and recovery, as a consumer or carer, to assist in the development and delivery of consumer and carer support groups, psycho education programs and other recovery-oriented information sessions for consumers and their carers and families.
Requirements:
* Hold or are working towards a certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
* Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful applicant to have a personal lived/living experience of mental illness and/or substance use challenges.
* Experience working within a public mental health service or the NGO sector in a lived experience role or equivalent.
* This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
* Probation period may apply.
* Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including Blue Card checks.
