The Role
This opportunity has arisen due to the internal promotion of the current Quality Manager into another part of the business; a strong signal of Genis Steel's commitment to developing its people.
We are seeking a Graduate Quality Engineer (QSE). An intelligent, motivated engineering graduate who wants to learn quality systems properly in a real operational environment, under the guidance of experienced professionals.
The outgoing Quality Manager remains within the business, ensuring a smooth handover and ongoing technical support as you step into the role.
This is a hands on, learning focused position that will expose you to:
* Structural steel fabrication and construction
* Major defence, commercial and industrial projects
* Quality systems, traceability and compliance
* And over time, broader safety and environmental exposure
As the business continues to grow, additional support resources may be introduced. In the meantime, you'll be encouraged to build strong working relationships across the business and develop practical, efficient ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
With mentoring and structured guidance, you will be involved in:
* Supporting quality system management reviews
* Assisting with tender and contract reviews on QSE matters
* Developing and maintaining procedures and work instructions
* Preparing Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
* Assisting with inspections, checklists and traceability documentation
* Supporting non conformance investigations and corrective actions
* Controlling and issuing management system documentation
* Liaising with internal teams, clients and inspectors on quality matters
* Assisting with internal and surveillance audits
* Supporting vendor and supplier assessments
* Observing and monitoring fabrication and site practices
* Maintaining records and reporting on QSE matters
* Identifying opportunities to improve quality, productivity and cost outcomes

About You
This role is ideal for a high potential engineering graduate who is:
* Genuinely interested in quality, systems and how things are built

You don't need deep technical knowledge on day one, that will be learned on the job.
You do need curiosity, discipline and a desire to do things properly.
Requirements
To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate:
* A degree in Engineering (or similar)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good organisational and time management capability
* Attention to detail and logical thinking
* The ability to build rapport across blue and white collar environments
