Newman Catholic College, co-located on James Cook University site, Smithfield, is Cairns Catholic Education’s newest college, joining a system of 29 other catholic schools and colleges. Opened in 2022 and growing each year until Year 12 in 2027, its location on and interaction with the University offers opportunities to meet diverse learning needs. The college collaborates with James Cook University to enhance learning and teaching at all levels.
About The Role
The role of the Teacher is to support the College's mission through implementing the learning and teaching program. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering effective programs; contributing to college objectives and planning; ensuring pedagogies are implemented; maintaining a supportive environment based on data analysis; and managing resources prudently. The Teacher should demonstrate excellence in their Learning Area and contribute to holistic education.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of Newman as a new College;
Plan, prepare, and deliver innovative learning programs that foster creativity;
Support school objectives and planning;
Maintain a supportive school environment.

Work Requirements
Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers;
Supportive of Catholic Education ethos.
