Volunteer Retail Assistant
This volunteer role supports store operations as part of a team of managers, support staff, and fellow volunteers. It is a non‐paid position that helps raise funds for essential services.
Requirements
* Minimum age 15 years old.
* Friendly and approachable, with a positive, can‐do attitude.
* Open to instructions, able to seek help when needed.
* Integrity and honesty, aligned with The Salvation Army's mission and values.
* Comfortable working in a retail environment, able to help customers and support store tasks.
Responsibilities
* Greet customers and create a warm shopping experience.
* Assist with inquiries, providing clear information to customers.
* Support the Donor Care Program by receiving donated goods and communicating with donors.
* Process donated items: assess condition, functionality, and suitability, and price items accurately.
* Stock and display items on the sales floor, ensuring neat and organized presentation.
* Maintain cleanliness of items, sales floor, and staff areas.
* Follow waste management guidelines in line with sustainable practices.
* Ensure safety for customers, visitors, and staff by adhering to safe work practices.
* Prioritise health and safety for yourself and others.
