Job Description
As a Wealth Reporter for The Australian Financial Review, you will deliver engaging and informative stories that explore the opportunities and complexities of wealth and personal finance. This is a unique opportunity to own the popular 'Wealth Generation' newsletter, set the agenda on intergenerational issues and inform a dedicated readership through innovative, multi‐platform storytelling.
Day to day you will:

* Pitch and write stories that bring those themes to life using graphics, case studies and other illustrative techniques.
* Demonstrate a knack for informing and entertaining digital audiences using clever and compelling intros and headlines.
* Maintain a keen sense of economic, political, business and financial markets news, and use this knowledge to generate long and short‐form stories populated by real‐life stories and 'news you can use'.
* Take ownership of the popular AFR newsletter 'Wealth Generation', a key driver of new audience and subscriptions, writing engaging and informative copy for a dedicated weekly readership.
* Show a willingness and ability to pitch in on whatever tasks come your way, learn from readership data and work collaboratively with other reporters.
* Work with editors, producers and journalists to ensure AFR coverage is accurate and up to date.
What you'll bring
* Proven experience as a journalist or content producer, ideally specialising in financial services or personal finance.
* Exceptional writing skills with meticulous attention to grammar, spelling, and audience‐focused headlines.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‐paced newsroom environment.
* An innovative mindset with experience in, or a willingness to learn, digital article production and image selection.
