This elite group of consultants will work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Defence science researchers to deliver mission‑critical innovation, science and technology projects.
We are currently looking for a Linux Engineer to be responsible for undertaking the deployment, management and maintenance of a range of Linux server and desktop infrastructure.
* Contract till June 2026, with possible longer‑term extension
* Must have a minimum Negative Vetting level 1, and there is a strong preference for NV 2 clearance
* Long‑term contract / Permanent option available for the right candidate
Skills and Experience required:
Minimum of 5 years administering, managing and / or supporting more than one of the following:
* Linux / UNIX Administration in an Enterprise Environment – CentOS, or RedHat, or Ubuntu
* Knowledge of a variety of virtualization and cloud technologies, setting up virtual environments using host and guest, and migrating from physical to virtual environments.
* High‑level skills and experience in Linux scripting in at least one of: bash, perl, python.
* Strong skills in general Linux system administration of CentOS / RedHat.
* Strong web interface design skills interfacing to a backend Linux client‑server environment.
* Experience developing Ansible playbooks.
* Experience in managing Linux systems using Satellite or Landscape
* Experience implementing Multi‑Factor Authentication on Linux.
* Linux Certification (of any kind)
Security Clearance Requirements:
* Must have a minimum Negative Vetting level 1, and there is a strong preference for NV 2 clearance.
* Experience within Commonwealth Government, Defence, or a scientific research organization is highly desirable.
