Job Title: Technical Officer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Technical Officer.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking sampling, health checks, and investigations at our marine or hatchery sites. This will include coordinating the operation of hatcheries to promote fish health, taking into account environmental and market factors. In addition, they will enforce animal welfare and biosecurity compliance within our operational teams.
Other key responsibilities will include maintaining records of farming activities, planning production accordingly, and ensuring laboratories and fish health workstations are clean and well stocked. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to contribute positively to a productive team environment.
About You:
* You have adept communication skills and can build meaningful relationships.
* You have experience in collecting and analysing data, communicating results in a clear and concise manner.
* You are willing to help out other teams with operational or administrative tasks when required.
* You contribute positively to a productive and friendly team environment.
* You're self-motivated with a track record of contributing to continuous improvement of systems and procedures.
* You're experienced and competent in the Microsoft Office suite.
* You have a strong understanding of fish biology, water chemistry and marine and freshwater production cycles.
* A coxswain or experience on boats is desirable.
* A current and valid driver's licence.
