The Role
The Assistant Director - Learning Platforms is an effective leader with a thorough knowledge of learning management systems.
The key tasks for this role include:
- Managing the Level 2 support, quality assurance, and reporting teams responsible for the daily operation of the platform, including analysing outputs and ensuring appropriate resourcing and platform use
- Managing data and reporting function for learning analytics
- Ensuring compliance with and continuous improvement of procedures and governance related to application support and assurance
- Responsible for platform configuration changes as a technical administrator
- Collaboration, coaching, mentoring and guidance for the various types of system administrators regarding platform use and best practice
- Engaging with technical specialists and learning professionals to ensure business requirements are met through technical solutions and enhancements to the platform and its functionality
- Contribute to user experience through continuous improvement of platform functionality
- Other duties as assigned
Regular access to a Defence base to conduct work is a requirement of this role. There may be occasional work out of hours to support platform updates and resolve issues.

Digital Learning Solutions Directorate partners with Groups, Services and Job Family Sponsors to understand business intent and provide cost effective learning and development solutions to meet capability requirements and improve business performance. The Directorate comprises of a team who support the uplift in capability across Defence through the production and support of enterprise learning solutions.
Our Learning Platform Support team support our corporate, enterprise learning systems, LXP (Totara Learn) and LinkedIn Learning. The team is responsible for quality assurance and system testing, and supporting system users and administrators to achieving their required outcomes while responding to a range of diverse enquiries.
