We are seeking an experienced professional to work on high-priority infrastructure projects in a federal government department.
Key Responsibilities:
* To design, evaluate and implement infrastructure solutions that meet future requirements.
* Provide expert technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities.
* Maintain accurate documentation including design documentation, implementation plans, test plans and support procedures.
* Collaborate in the development and implementation of operational policies and change initiatives.
* Participate in change management processes and communicate implications of configuration changes.
* Offer detailed, specialist technical advice including strategic guidance to senior executives.
* Foster partnerships with other agencies and service providers to enhance service delivery capabilities.
* Oversee the operation of backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions for IT systems.
* Evaluate and apply regular maintenance patches and support packages across all technical layers.
* Manage the administration and operation of gateway network equipment.
Essential Qualifications:
* A minimum of 5 years experience in designing, managing and maintaining internet gateways and/or large-scale data centre networks.
* Technical expertise in designing services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.
* Experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure including Cisco Data Centre technologies like ACI, routers, Nexus switches, routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
* Demonstrated experience with Palo Alto firewalls and IPS solutions.
* Understanding of VPN technologies, email and DNS (Infoblox) solutions.
* Experience in integrating hybrid and public cloud services. Proven ability to create and maintain system architecture and design documentation.
* Familiarity with Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.
