Contract Solution Designer opportunity working for a banking firm

Your new role
As a Solution Designer in Sydney, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering scalable data solutions tailored for consumer banking environments. Your expertise will help drive the modernisation and optimisation of complex data systems while aligning with business needs and industry best practices. You will design and implement scalable data solutions using ETL tools (e.g., Informatica IDMC/CDI, PowerCenter, or equivalent platforms) across diverse, high-volume data environments. You will lead solution design for large-scale data migration and integration projects, including inventory analysis, impact assessments, and creation of detailed data flow diagrams.What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience in data engineering and solution design at a senior level, with proficiency in ETL tools (Informatica IDMC/CDI, PowerCenter preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong background in consumer banking, with knowledge of General Ledger (GL) processes, financial data workflows, or similar banking operations highly advantageous.
- Experience working with complex, legacy data platforms (e.g., Oracle, DB2, custom systems) and expertise in integrating, migrating, and optimising them.
- Solid knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS, with the ability to design and optimize complex queries.
- Proven success in large-scale migration, re-platforming, or modernization projects, particularly those involving legacy or batch-oriented data sources.
- Expertise in data modeling (relational, dimensional, operational) and governance practices (e.g., row-level security, column-level security).
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) to derive insights from complex datasets.
