Position Summary
This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to join our procurement team and play a key role in supporting our upcoming projects.
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for conducting sourcing, negotiating and supplier management activities to support Incat shipbuilding operations.
This role is focused on generating cost savings through robust tendering processes while ensuring quality, risk management and timely delivery. The Procurement Specialist will develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline
* Demonstrated experience in procurement within a manufacturing or industrial environment (desirable)
* Proven experience managing tender processes and supplier selection (required)
* Experience sourcing raw materials and components
* Knowledge of procurement best practices and relevant regulatory requirements
* Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end to end RFX activities
* Coordinate supplier selection activities, including evaluation, scoring, and recommendations
* Engage collaboratively with operational teams to understand vessel and contractual requirements
* Develop clear specifications in collaboration with engineering, production, and operational teams
* Conduct market analysis to identify suitable suppliers and sourcing opportunities
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply arrangements to achieve best value outcomes
* Establish and maintain a reliable supplier base to support production requirements
* Monitor supplier performance in relation to quality, delivery, and service expectations
* Act quickly to resolve supply disruptions or quality issues ensuring continuity of supply to Production Teams
* Escalate identified issue related to quality, deliver or service in a timely manner.
* Ensure procurement activities comply with organisational policies, ethical standards, and relevant legislation and regulations
* Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements and implement where appropriate
