About the Role
You will work alongside clinicians, service managers, and community members to embed consumer perspectives into health service planning and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitating consumer and community consultation activities, including focus groups, surveys, and co‐design sessions
* Providing advice to NALHN teams on meaningful consumer engagement practice, in line with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
* Supporting the development and review of consumer‐facing resources to ensure accessibility and plain language across diverse community groups
* Maintaining accurate records of engagement activities and contributing to reporting on consumer feedback outcomes
* Influencing how health services engage with the community
* Deliver meaningful communication and engagement activities that reach diverse audiences
* Work alongside senior leaders, clinicians and community groups
* Leave a tangible legacy through campaigns, events and engagement strategies
This is not a "hold the fort" role—it's an opportunity to actively deliver, improve and elevate how we engage with consumers and the community.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
* Demonstrated experience in consumer engagement, community development, or a related health or social services field
* Sound understanding of person‐centred care and health literacy principles within a public health context
* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information clearly
* Ability to build trusted relationships with consumers, carers, and multidisciplinary health teams
* Familiarity with SA Health consumer and community engagement frameworks is highly regarded
